A Note from Pastor Jim

Finding Peace in the Midst of the Storm

I am sure most will remember the account of the storm that comes upon the disciples and Jesus when they were crossing the Galilee. The story can be found in the book of Matthew in the 8th chapter. Jesus is sleeping in the front of the boat, apparently oblivious to the storm which raged all around them. How can it be that there is such peace, such calm, such confidence exhibited by this man?  When you understand that He knew who He was and what He had been anointed to do, it becomes clear. He was and is God Almighty, the creator of all we know. What did He have to fear? The wind and waves had no hold over him.

My friends He has given us a great gift if we simply have the faith to obtain it. He said that these storms of life are subject to His power and we can access this power through our fervent prayer and unyielding faith. When you know the “Master of the storm” you have nothing to fear. I love the words of that old song,  “I know the Master of the winds, I know the Maker of the rain, He can calm your storm, make the sun shine again, I know the Master of the Wind”. I encourage you to get to know this storm stopper.
